Love’s Geometry

 Two lovers crossed by love are you and I;
 Two lines we are, apart and not yet join’d.
 And will we ever meet if we should try
 With rightly angled love to be conjoined?

 Or will we in our geometric space
 Obey the law of postulation five
 When straightness less than right will then disgrace
 The law of love and purity deprive?

 But even if we cast off laws of right
 And by degrees move ever closer still,
 Would you and I in time meet out of sight
 And shrink the space between us into nil?

 Or parallel into Infinity
 In virtue join with new geometry?
